Frequently asked questions

How Locuvo processes your files, what each tool can do, and what to expect from conversions.

Do my files get uploaded to Locuvo?

Locuvo's document conversion tools are designed to process supported files inside your browser. The contents of the files you place in the workbench are not intentionally uploaded to Locuvo's application server for conversion.

What information does Locuvo store?

Locuvo may store the account information needed for sign-in, your plan, a Stripe customer identifier when applicable, authentication sessions, and limited usage information such as the number of free conversions used for the current day.

What can Images → PDF do?

It combines JPG and PNG images into a PDF. You can reorder images, choose supported page sizes and orientation, and adjust margins before creating the file.

What can PDF → Images do?

It renders selected PDF pages as PNG or JPEG images. You can choose page ranges, resolution, JPEG quality, and export order. A single selected page can download directly, while multiple pages can be packaged into a ZIP.

What can Edit / Merge PDF do?

The PDF tools can merge multiple PDFs, rotate selected page ranges, delete selected pages, and add text stamps with configurable placement and appearance.

How does Word → PDF work?

Locuvo reads supported DOCX files in the browser, converts their content for rendering, and generates a PDF locally. Text, headings, lists, and common document structures generally work best; highly designed Word layouts may shift.

How accurate is PDF → Word?

Locuvo reconstructs selectable PDF text into an editable DOCX and attempts to recover useful paragraph, heading, list, and page structure. PDF files do not contain Word's original document structure, so complex layouts, images, columns, forms, and fonts may not reproduce exactly.

Can Locuvo convert scanned PDFs into Word?

Not reliably with the current text-based PDF → Word converter. A scanned PDF usually contains page images instead of selectable text, so OCR would be required to recognize the text.

What is included with the Free plan?

The current Free plan provides access to the five tools with a daily conversion allowance and a smaller supported file-size limit. Check the pricing section for the current limits.

What is included with Pro?

The current Pro plan provides unlimited conversions, a larger supported file-size limit, batch-oriented capabilities where available, and priority for new tools. The pricing section shows the current offer.

How do I manage or cancel Pro?

When signed into a Pro account, use the Manage subscription link in the Locuvo workbench. Subscription management is handled through Stripe's billing portal.

Why did a converted document look different?

PDF, Word, and image formats describe layout differently. Fonts, tables, columns, embedded graphics, page dimensions, and complex formatting can cause visual differences during conversion. Always review important output before using it.

What happens if I close the tab?

Files loaded into the workbench are generally held by the browser for the current session rather than being stored by Locuvo as uploaded documents. Save completed downloads before closing the page.

Which browsers should I use?

A current version of a modern browser such as Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox is recommended. Large files can require significant browser memory.
